I really enjoyed writing this blog on the semester, it was a fun way to keep practicing my english which i had been for over a year without any kind of practice. I liked it because i got to talk about things i liked and not being forced to write about some boring stuff, and mostly of all i could talk about music in almost every blog, which is a matter that entretains me very very much.

the blog i enjoyed writing the most was the blog about a walk i would like to do again becaus it made me evoke so many good memories, and it made me realize that i should start making up time more often so i can take those walks again, i have done it a couple of times since i wrote that blog, and it has been maravellous, i enjoyed them even more as i said, and now that i know more music than before, those walks have had new flavors with other kinds of music.

the post i didnt enjoy so much doing was the victory city one because i didnt have to write about my own experiences from which i already had knowledge, in this one i had to learn about a subject very fast so i could finish the blog in time so i ended up doing it too fast, but i think that if have had more time to study about what victory city is i would have enjoyed it far more.

Im not sure if my english improved but i certainly got the fluidness that i once had but i had also lost because of not practicing english for over a year, so it has been a very good exercise writing these blogs.

I really enjoyed reading Clementes posts, i think they are pretty interesting to read and stuff.

That was my experience with the blogs this semester :) i´ll just put the song i am listening right now haha

2016 was a really strange kind of year. I started studying in university and i had to adapt to this new order on how time is organized and new rythms fn doing things. The year started off really well, i went with a group of friends to Chiloe, i think it`s the prettiest place i have ever seen in my life. We stayed in a cabin in the woods and everything seemed as pure magic. Then when i came back I had to go to university. I met a lot of cool people as soon as i entered to university. but adapting to the ways of study has been kind of difficult for me because i`ve always had severe problems on organizing time, and now that it`s like when i have to be more organized, it`s been a really tough broplem for me. But i like it in here, i like the people, the ambient, but mostly the career. Architecture has been a very non-conventional type of career, even strangier than i thought, but that non convention is what i like of it. I also met my girlfriend here in university, so that has been really cool.

Musically this year has been very good, a lot of my favorite bandas have put out awesome records, like Katatonia, Opeth, Inter Arma, Alcest, just to name a few. I saw Katatonia live, which it was a concert i have been awiting for sooo long, and i catched Anders(the guitarrist) guitar pick, so it was very cool, the setlist was flawless. I also saw the godfathers of heavy metal, Black Sabbath, i arrived very early with some friends to Estadio Nacional and we got to be at the very front, they played a whole bunch of classics since it`s their farewell tour :c glad i got to se them before they disappear. But the concert i liked the best i think it was Steven Wilson, it was a 3 hour show playng his last record in full and another set where he played classics along with songs of his former band, Porcupine Tree. It was the most emotive concert i have ever been to, and when they played Lazarus(he dedicated this song to David Bowie) i couldn`t help it anymore and started crying like a little girl haha
And with my band, Amok Damnation, has been a really cool year too, I changed from just doing vocals to doing vocals and playing guitar at the same time, it was really challenging at first, i had to practice a lot to fully coordinate the guitar playing with my vocals, but i think its the best thing we ould have done for the band, aour live shows now are so much powerfull than before, we also got a new bass player who plays a fretless 6 string bass so that adds a whole new world of flavors to our music. Now we got invited to play in Chiloe metal fest for february 2017, so we are getting bigger nd bigger everytime.

All in all, it has been a toughyear, i never apreciated sleeping so much, since now i dont get to sleep very much, and sometimes university can get a bit frustrating, but i still like it very much and i will keep on persevering until i fully adapt to the rythm,That has been basically my 2016.

The person who I would like to have a one-on-one conversation is Mikael Akerfeldt. He is the lead singer and guitar player of my favorite band, Opeth. He is the only remaining founding member since the band was formed in the mid 90's. The first time I heard about this person was a long time ago when I was about 14 years old, when a friend of mine showed me the band, I didn´t really liked the band at first because I hated the growled type of vocals(although he also sings using his clean voice) but eventually with time i startid digging it more and more and eventually I started admiring this guy as a musician because his music is so innovating, because the style of Opeth is like a fusion between Death Metal and 70´s prog rock. I would love to have a beer and a conversation with this guy because he is a 70´s prog and psychedellic rock lover as I am too, and he is a vinyl collector, as i want to be one day. He has a huge collections of old and rare vinyls from the most unknown bands one could imagine. He is also a magnificent musician so i wold like to ask him like a billion tips on how to play some sort of things on guitar, or growling tips, or composing tips. I think we have a lot of things in common that we could talk about. He is by far my favorite musician in the world, it would be great if one day I get to meet him. Here I´ll leave a link to a live video of one of Opeth´s classic songs.

A Hobby

I have had a hobby since i am 11 years old and I absolutely love it, it´s playing guitar. It all started when my music teacher asked us to get an instrument of our choice for the class, some picked flute or piano, i decided to get a guitar because i thought it was cooler haha. At first I was a really bad player, i couldnt´t get any chord right for many time, i thought I was useless for playing guitar, but i loved music so much that i didn´t gave up. A friend of mine called Raul did very good on playing guitar at first and iI admired him so much. As he is my f|riend he became like some kind of teacher, and he taught me some tricks to made my playing easier, The first riff he taught me was Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple, and i hallucinated with it, then he showed me thuis band called Metallica and i liked it very much, so then i wanted to get an electric guitar. I was still a very bad player but i wanted an electric guitar more than anything, so i asked my mom wether she could buy me one and she told me: If you learn 15 songs on the acoustic i will buy you an electric. So i spent like 2 months playing all day to get those 15 songs, then i went and showed them to my mom and she finally agreed on buying me one haha. Thats how my hobby startedat 11 years old. my mom thought that i would play for a few months and then i would lose interest, but i have been playing ever since. When i got to my house from school during my whole schooltime period, i played guitar until nightime, it was the only thing I did, so with time i developed some great skills. I´ve never got bored of playing guitar, it´s like an escape from reality and it feels just so good, it´s like my own world when i play gitar and i got nothing else to worry about. I love that idea of scaping. Now i even have my own Death Metal band where I play guitar and sing(scream haha) and i spend such a great time on it, and all thanks to perseverance, because at first iI didn´t really think i wold ever learn to play good. Here i´ll leave a link to one of my bands live video.

Victory City

I visited the sections of: Residents Guide, Purpose/benefits and Project History.
I think it’s amazing how a project of such a big magnitude was all thought and planned just by one person and years of dedication and effort. And it´s even more amazing how he started creating this future city at a very young age.
It would be great if one day we can achieve to create a city like this because judging on how pollution and ambient problems are affecting the world, maybe the end for all could be near. Victory city sounds like just what we need to keep the race and the entire spectrum of species alive for a long long time.
It’s a perfect city, rentable, sustainable, and would fix the ambient problems we have.

I really hope I can live enough to see one of this projects coming to life and seeing how the worlds condition gets better and better every time.

A walk i would like to do again
The place where I live is at the mountain feet, in La Reina. It’s a very quiet place. A mixture between rural and residential city with forest elements. It´s such a welcoming area that I love living in there. Before I started studying architecture I had much more free time to spare and one of my favorite activities to do was taking long walks around the area, usually at nighttime because I think night’s beauty is unbeatable. I could take walks for hours and every time I did it I listened to kind of moody or spacey music at the same time, I listened to quite a few full albums. My favorite artists to listen on those walks were Opeth, Anathema, Eloy, My Dying Bride, God Is an Astronaut, Agalloch, etc... These walks along with the music allowed my stream of thoughts flow on its own and I could think about the future, the past, who I wanted to be, what my life has been until now, every sort of questions.
It was just me alone with my mind and the music while I went through foresty landscapes, everything seemed to be so magical and perfect at the time of those walks that I never wanted them to finish, I wish those moments were suspended in time forever. I think I found some sort of true happiness on those walks which I took like 3 times a week on average.

Now that I started studying I never find time to do those kind of walks again, and that makes me very sad, because it was a part of me, I kind of needed those walks to feel satisfied. At least now I know that the next time that ill be able to take one of those walks I will appreciate even more so that is a good point on waiting hahaha. Here i´l leave some of the songs I enjoyed listening during those walks :)

Something i would like to learn

Since I was very young, about 5 or 6 years old, I have been deeply interested in music. I could sit down for hours just to listen to Los Jaivas, a Chilean band that I loved. I´ve learnt to play electric guitar at the age of eleven, then bass and now piano, but I have always wanted to learn to play drums, I’ve been fascinated by drums since the first time I listened to Los Jaivas, but I have not had the opportunity to learn because of different reasons, first of all, they are way too expensive. Keeping the drum kit under good care is expensive, replacing parts and stuff like that, plus, every time you need another tom or plate it costs a fortune. The other reason is the noise, my neighbors already hate me for playing guitar too loud, so if I had a drum kit I would be kicked out of where I live hahaha. The difficult part of playing drums is that you have to develop the ability to split your brain into many fragments and each of those fragments has to think for its own, because you need to lead a different rhythm with each one of your limbs. Keeping up with the tempo is the fundamental thing to do when you play drums, that’s a bit difficult for me since I never practice with a metronome when I play guitar, my bad there haha. A drummer is like the heartbeat of any music band, so it´s not an easy task to play drums, it requires lots and lots of practice and patience. My drumming influences are quite diverse since I listen to a lot of different music genres, from prog rock and jazz fusion to extreme forms of metal. I couldn’t say who is my favorite drummer but here are some of the ones I like the most.
